Regional Offices
Regional offices are a part of CGS' contribution to the Government of Nunavut commitment to decentralization. There are three (3) regional offices with headquarters located in Iqaluit, the capital of Nunavut:

Each regional office operates through the following positions and projects:
The Regional Director works closely with mayors in the respective regional communities and oversees all regional operations and projects.
Finance and Administration deals with all of the finances and office administration.
*The Assistant Fire Marshal goes into each of the Qikiqtaaluk communities twice a year to do inspections, and also to carry out fire fighters training programs.
Community Development provides monitoring of community operations, community evaluations, assists the communities in building capacity, plans and provides council training and also works very closely with hamlet councils and senior administrative officers.
Community Planning and Lands assists the hamlets with a Community Plan, zoning By-Laws and also supports the hamlets with Land Development. They work closely with the Lands Officers in the communities.
Informatics is responsible for the overall GN informatics systems in the region.
Facilities and Maintenance is responsible for all the maintenance and upkeep of GN assets whether owned or leased.
Municipal Technical Officers assists hamlets with the technical aspects of municipal operations within region and also work closely with the Director of the region.
Projects Division coordinates all projects within the various Government Departments. This includes Community Support Project Officers and Municipal Planning Engineers who provide project support for hamlet-driven capital projects.
**Petroleum Products works with the local fuel contractor to provide petroleum products in the region. This includes maintenance of PPD tank farms in the communities and also inventory control and fuel ‘re-supply’ from the tankers.
Safety Services provides electrical permits and goes to each of the communities to do inspections as required.
