Services to Nunavut Communities

Community and Government Services provide Capital Planning, Municipal Transfer Payments and other community support services targeted to Nunavut communities.

Community Infrastructure
One of the major priorities for the division to address is the protection of public health as it relates to municipal infrastructure through the supply and treatment of potable water, the treatment and disposal of waste water, provision of infrastructure in support of fire protection, technical assistance in response to civil emergencies and provision of public buildings and mobile equipment to address all facets of municipal operations. Develops and aids community development by fostering self-reliance, through initiatives that develop the capacity of communities to operate services.Nunavut Emergency Management
Nunavut Emergency Management is responsible for developing the territorial emergency response plans, coordinating GN emergency operations at the territorial and regional levels, and supporting community emergency response operations.
